Vegan Venture Cookery Course

VVapplication form revised24 5 11

If you are aged between 16 and 25, vegetarian or vegan, and you would like to learn to cook, or to improve your knowledge of vegetarian cookery and nutrition, then this cookery course may be perfect for you.

This one-day course  which takes place at The Vegetarian Society’s prestigious Cordon Vert Cookery School in Altrincham in Cheshire, has been specifically designed for young people by tutors at the Cordon Vert School. The course teaches the students how to prepare a number of quick and easy vegan dishes that taste delicious but will not break the bank!

Workshop students will have the opportunity to practice making such completely animal-free treats as Mushroom and Butterbean Stroganoff and Apple and Blackberry with Crunch Nut Topping and custard before tasting them over lunch. The course is a great way to learn new skills and to meet other like-minded young people in a happy and relaxed atmosphere.

In addition to tuition and lunch, assistance may also be available to cover travelling expenses.  Overnight accommodation and breakfast at the Cordon Vert Cookery School in single en-suite study bedrooms is available for those travelling some distance. Financial hardship is not a prerequisite of being offered a place on the course and full-time students, whatever their financial situation, are encouraged to apply.

Bursaries are available to applicants for the course.  Should a bursary be awarded applicants must be aware that late cancellations incur a charge from the Cordon Vert School for the course and accommodation (if booked).

The workshop is held in memory of the late Maxwell Lee, the former Chairman of The Vegetarian Charity from 1986 to his death in 2005. Maxwell became a vegetarian at the age of 12 for moral reasons and then a vegan in 1985. His commitment to The Vegetarian Society spanned 50 years in various roles. He was Honorary General Secretary of the International Vegetarian Union for 17 years and later President of the European Vegetarian Union.
